The staff was so sweet and helpful...the lady helping us decided to show me a dog she felt would be perfect. I took one look at him and said... I really don't want a Chihuahua and definitely not a male.
Was that the new PetSmart in Cartersville buying formula for a kitten that I found. And I spoke to one of their volunteers there and ask them if they knew any place that I could take this kitten so I could be taken care of and possibly found a home for. They responded with I could take it to them she handed me their business card with their address I went home got the kitten loading it up drove to the Etowah Humane Society when inside spoke with the lady at the counter was giving an attitude was told that they don't don't do intake. When I explain the situation I was giving an attitude as if I was lying. Went back up to Pet Smart met with the girl who told me that I could take the cat there and she said my apology I am new. Now they do offer a great service for pets but my experience with them was very bad due to the fact that I was misinformed and wasted half my day that I could have spent more productive we trying to find this kitten at home
I lost my beloved Yorkie after 11 years and had decided, no more pets!
The dog we went to see was much older than I wanted, only because I didn't want to go through another loss.
My father and I visited EVHS today and were totally impressed. Looking forward to visiting again.
Please before you leave a negative review, THINK! We all have bad days, perhaps you weren't treated in the manner you expect...but by leaving a bad review because of a person...you only hurt the chances of these precious animals getting a home.
He is absolutely precious in everyway...I couldn't be happier with the shelter, the people there and the price.
Long story short, we sat on the sofa and he instantly became the little love I needed.
Unfortunately, EVHS is not what it used to be. In reading the other reviews, I see others have had similar experiences to mine. No one needs to name anyone to know who the references are about the fanatic and the rude person at the front desk. The Director is not much better. Adopt or rescue from another organization that really cares about the pets they have. No need to put yourself in a position to be treated with such a condescending attitude. I was told I had done and said things that were not even true. There are many counties around where you can actually rescue a dog -please do!
People read these reviews and your negativity may dissuade a wonderful person from adopting a wonderful pet...a pet that may be disposed of because you scared someone off by your statements.
They do a great job here helping our 4 footed friends. Great place to get your pet
So, I wrote a check for 175.00 and walked out the door cuddling the very dog I never wanted.
My experience couldn't have been better...please go see for yourself.
My daughter decided (for me) I needed another pet, so off we went to EVHS.
